Churches and You

Miss Sarah met us at the door asking if we would like some coffe. The next thing we knew, we were being served! All other churches, please take note (tee hee)Seriously, Thanks so much for the hospitality, Sarah! O.K., if we could just move some of you folks from the other side over here! (Just kidding!) We always kid around with the folks that one side of the church is always a little fuller than the other. Some folks came in from other churches for the afternoon singing. In not sure if this is a good or bad sign. Actually I took this pic after the preaching service, so I guess we could blame Pastor Kyle Ellison (Just kidding brother Kyle!) Family and Friends

Wonder what Joseph is thinking? If our group had about two percent of his energy, folks couldnt get us off the stage. This little guy is precious! Who is that guy under that hat? Believe it or not, its Keith (Sharons husband.) Keith bought the cowboy hat when he and Sharon visited their son Brian and his family in Arizona last year. Keith and Sharons daughter, Brande. What a true blessing she is to us! Brande lives in Illinois with her husband, Kevin and son, Logan Sharons brother, Larry. We are so blessed to still have Larry. He was in a serious mining accident in 1979. God is still in the miracle business folks! Sharons sister-in-law, Amanda Emery Barnes and Julie Emery. There is always a big gathering on holidays since Keith (Sharons husband) is in a family of seven children! Its bubbling, Its bubbling! This is Mary and Garys only grand son, Joseph pictured at Rices Chapel in Sipsey, AL on June 19, 2011. Everytime we see Joseph, we talk about being able to bottle just a tenth of his energy! Brodie Miles is Keith and Sharons youngest grandson and son of Brian and Crystal Emery Sharons mom, Edith Tanner. Mom and Dad sacrificed many things so I could take piano lessons. Ill never be able to repay them! Thank you Lord for my Christian home. From time to time I go back and look through past pictures. Since I lost my dad two years ago, I wanted to share this picture with our friends and family. At my dads funeral, his pastor made the comment that,Sharon, youve lost your biggest fan! Churches and You-Part II

Its always good to see the younger generation involved in the service. The pastor and his wife even got in on the shaped-note song leading. We love the folks at Welcome Baptist Church. Weve been there several times over the past eight years that weve been together and we hope to be with them again in the future. Pastor Shane Cochran and Mrs. Thelma of Mt. Moriah Church singing a song in between our break. We thought we could catch pastor Shane using someones glasses to see the music, but he never put them on. Several guest singers and home church singers also helped out The Waylighters on Sunday afternoon at Rices Chapel. Renee Walked from Ensley was able to be there and sang two. Bright and early on Sunday morning, June 19, 2011, The Waylighters were getting prepared to sing at Rices Chapel in Sipsey, Alabama. This is a beautiful church, but signs of the recent tornado in April of this year were evident. Please continue to pray f When you have a full band with the group, its hard to get everyone. Here is another view of the group, Mercy Revealed. If you will notice off to the left of the monument to honor the men and women in service, there stands three crosses. This is an honor made to the man who paid the ultimate sacrifice, Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Let us as a nation never forget who The couple in the middle and far back seat have become very good friends and followers of The Waylighters and gave us the good news that they were to be married on the following Tuesday, May 10. We congratulate them and look forward to seeing them at fut Located by the cemetary at Rices Chapel in Sipsey, AL, stands a beautiful memorial to our military men and women who served and some who even paid the ultimate cost with ther lives. We were humbled to be standing there in its presence. Mercy Revealeds tenor singer. These guys do a fine job and cover lots of different material. Anytime theyre in the area, make a point to go see them. You wont be disappointed. The Waylighters were back at Tannehill Opry on June 11, 2011. The first group to perform was Mercy Revealed. Believe me, you will be hearing more from this group.

Waylighters Quartet #3

John taking the lead on the song, Plan of Salvation. This is one of Johns favorite songs that he does. Sharon in deep concentration on one of her all-time favorite songs, Look for Me at Jesus Feet. Sharon and Danny at Old Blue Creek Missionary Baptist Church on Mothers Day, May 8, 2011 The audience gets a kick out of this song every time because John has to lean way over in order for Sharon to hear all of the parts. Another day of worshiping the Lord and being with Gods people. It just doesnt get any better than this! We really enjoyed the day John sang so hard, he had to take his coat off. Anytimes a great time for singing for the Lord though.

Charlie's Party - March 20, 2011

It takes a lot of help to put on a birthday party. Thanks girls for all of your help! More friends at the birthday celebration. More good friends. We were so glad to see Jenny out on this day. Shes had a rough couple of years. So many folks came to wish Charlie well and really made his day. Mr. Joseph was a ball of fire all afternoon. Joseph is Garys grandson. Can you name these folks? If so, please notify me and I would be very thankful. It was really hard to get around and talk to everyone, but Gary tried as hard as he could! Gary with some of his good friends from his church. Charlies son, Michael and daughter-in-law. It says a lot about a man who has so many good friends as Charlie does.

The Waylighters were honored to sing at Concord Highlands Baptist Church on May 5, 2013 on their 60th anniversary homecoming. The church was destroyed during the tornado that passed through on April 27, 2011. Churches and You - Part III

The Waylighters #5

Another one of our new songs features Ann Littleton singing the lead. Here she is doing a great job on, Jesus, Hold My Hand. The Mulga Baptist church from the outside. O.K., I think we need to shorten the pulpit just a little! Sharon and Ann performing at Mt. As Danny gets ready to introduce the next song, Sharon, Ann and Gary listen for their cue to start! Gary and his lovely wife, Mary during a break for the group, listening to some of the church talent. Pastor Shane Cochran also does double duty and sings a special during a break for the group. Danny and Ann Littleton are a vital part of The Waylighters. Im sure its great to have a spouse who not only supports you, but also shares the stage with you almost every weekend of the year. The Waylighters has always been blessed with supportive spous Every once in a while, we get to go and see some of our favorite groups. One of those such groups is The Kingsmen! Recently, Gary and Mary Adams and Sharon Emery traveled to Springville, AL to see The Kingsmen perform at Friendship Baptist Church. And Danny does most of the introductions of songs, etc. The Lord called Danny to preach several years ago, and Danny never passes up a chance to tell the folks about the Lord! The Waylighters in 2014

While Danny takes the lead verse, Sharon,Ann and Gary add back-up vocals. Like Gary, Ann continues to get even better at each and every singing. She seems to be more comfortable with each week that we sing. Ann Littleton is also a kind-hearted individual that really enjoys singing with the group. We are very blessed to have her. Danny Littleton is probably one of the most well-liked people around. Hes a very humble and modest man. We are so glad to have him as a member of the group. Part of the congregation at New Home Missionary Baptist Church in Oneonta, AL Gary has introduced a new song in the program entitled, If You Only Knew and it is getting wonderful response. We had tried to call someone from the church earlier in the week, but were told the number had been disconnected.
