Churches and You

See, even the little ones can like Southern Gospel Music! This was a precious little girl that we made friends with at Camp Branch Baptist Church. Pastor Tommy Dennis was unable to attend due to recently being in the hospital. In fact, he has just been released on Friday. Fortunately, he wife, Rosemary was Johnny on the spot and filled in very nicely. Brother Reggie from Lakeview brought the morn Wewere so happy that Glenda (Dannys wife) was able to be with us on this day. Her health doesnt always permit her to be. Please continue to remember Glenda in prayer God picks the most beautiful spots for His houses of worship. On May 8, 2011, we were blessed to be with the wonderful congregation of Old Blue Creek Missionary Baptist Church in McCalla, Alabama. We always try to get pictures of the congregation at our singings. This way we tell folks that if other folks dont believe that they were in church, all they have to do is go to our web site and see for themselves! First thought that comes to mind when you see Mt. Moriah is the song, The Church in the Wildwood. A lovely church that is surrounded by acres of land only. It is so peaceful! Family and Friends

This young man was a little camera shy and stood a slight distance from the other handsigners, so I caught him while he wasnt looking There is nothing better than having your spouse to support you when you are doing the Lords work, and let me tell you, Dannys wife, Glenda is one of the best! Crowd at Hepzibah Baptist Church on July 9, 2011 Mercy Given shared the pulpit with The Waylighters at Fellowship on April 1, 2012. These are good friends that we first met at Rock Solid Church a few years ago. We look forward to being back at Rock Solid this year. Sharon, Gary and John do back-up while Danny is over in the corner singing away. A wonderful crowd turned out for the relief singing at Hepzibah Baptist on July 9, 2011. All proceeds went to the Pleasant Grove Christian Ministry Center and over $3,000.00 was raised. We appreciate our spouses very much! Do they look alike? This is our son, Brian Emery. We were purchasing some new clothes for him for his birthday when we visited Brian and his family back in February. And believe me, hes just like his dad in EVERY way. Mr. Kyle Dunham started the benefit singing at Hepzibah Baptist Church on July 9, 2011 with proceeds to benefit the Pleasant Grove Christian Ministry Center. Kyle did a beautiful job and we appreciate him taking time out of his schedule to help out!

Fellowship Time

This is just one of the benefits that a group receives when singing. We get fed spiritualy and physically Its always fun to sit around and fellowship with folks. The Pastors wife leads the way for the rest of us to eat and enjoy ourselves; Believe it or not, I think I missed Danny, John and Gary completely! Now what was I thinking?! Bring on the food! Wish we could get everyone everytime, but it isnt always possible. Elvester Baptist Church in Warrior, AL Elvester Baptist Church on New Years Eve in Warrior, AL Elvester has some good singers of its own and we enjoyed siting back and listening to them. Sharon, Gary and John provide some back-up vocals to Jesus on the Main Line. This stain glassed window was dedicated by the Parker Family in memory of past family members. What a beautiful way to honor the memory of past loved ones. Parker Memorial Baptist Church More of the crowd at Elvester Baptist Church on New Years Eve, 2011 Some of the ladies from Elvester Baptist Church sang and gave The Waylighters a break. They did a beautiful job and gave us a much needed rest. Rices Chapel on June 19, 2011. The singing chairman opened up the service with a couple of songs and then we had about 20 minutes of singing from the congreagtion before The Waylighters took to the pulpit and brought the message in song at Welcome Baptist Church in Pinson, AL. We like to show as much of the congregation as possible when we do a singing. We also try to get pictures of our time during fellowship, but since I have to get back to singing and I have to eat fast, its sometimes not possible for me to get the folks pi The pianist did a wonderful job and the church at Welcome Baptist has added a new baby grand (which I just had to try out before the service) since we were last there. What a wonderful time we had with the folks at Welcome Baptist Church in Pinson, AL. Several of the folks led in some shape-note singing, which is something that is rare these days. We look forward to being back with these folks sometime.

Waylighters Quartet #3

After some good old shaped-note singing, The Waylighters were willing and ready to go with some Southern Gospel music at Welcome Baptist Church in Pinson, AL on January 15, 2012 Sharon, Gary and John always get excited with their parts on Jesus On The Main Line. You can see them really getting into it here at Welcome Baptist Danny(lead singer) and his wife, Glenda are two of the strongest Christian people I know. No matter what comes their way, their faith remains stong. They recently lost their son-in-law and we ask that you pray for their whole family. A song that is near and dear to Garys heart is, I Owe It All To Him. He really does a great job on this song. Here he is featured singing at Welcome Baptist on January 15,2012 Danny, Sharon and John stand back and do some harmony work while Gary sings, I Know A Man Who Can. The Waylighters love singing for the Lord and the first thing they will tell you is they are not entertainers, they are in the music ministry. And the second thing they will tell you is that they are NOT professionals, they make mistakes. But they are on The Waylighters at Welcome Baptist Church in Pinson, Alabama on January 15, 2012 Big John had to shuck his coat before the night was over. Even though it wass January, it was unseasonably warm. The Waylighters are always happy to be at Tannehill Opry. On this night, they were filling in for a group that had to cancel at the last minute. Danny Littleton does a fine job singing lead and he sings each song with his whole heart. The Waylighters are truly blessed to have Danny. Charlie's Party - March 20, 2011

Charlie has truly been an inspiration to Sharon. She lost her dad two years ago and Charlie pretty much took her under his wing. Sharon will forevermore be grateful for this wonderful man. There were so many folks there that I didnt know personally, but it was a joy meeting all of Charlies friends. This group actually is a table full of Garys friends from his church, St. Aloysius in Bessemer, Alabama. Charlies brother, Gary and sister-in-law, Mary Adams. Gary and the rest of the group will be continuing the work that Charlie started with The Waylighters. Charlies daugther-in-law at the refreshment table. More friends of Charlies. I want to take this time to thank my good buddy, Mary Adams (wife of Gary Adams) for all of the great pictures she takes while were up on stage singing. I appreciate you, Mary! A good time was had by all at Lloyds on Highway 280 on December 13, 2013. Keith and Sharon celebrated their 38th anniversary with members of The Waylighters. Mary, Ann and Sharon also looking forward to great food at Lloyds on December 13, 2013 Not only was Danny blessed when he married Ann, The Waylighters came out a winner too with her dedication as a fifth member of our group. Here she and Danny are singing one at New Providence Baptist Church in Adger, Al on June 23, 2013 Its hard to believe Keith and Ive been married for 38 years. The time has really flown by. Hes a wonderful man. No group would be complete without a bass singer and we have one of the best around, Mr. John Reiter! Gary, Danny and Keith getting ready to enjoy some great hamburger steaks at Lloyds restuarant on Highway 280 on December 13, 2013 Gary and Sharon like to kid around with each other during the program. Most of the kidding is done right before we get ready to sing, Moving Up To Glory Land. If you want to hear an awesome version of this song, listen to Gary when he sings it! One of the best songs in our program is, Winging My Way Back Home. Danny always kids that it took us 13 years to learn this song. Myself, I think we were just waiting for the right singer to come along in Ann to polish it. One of the groups favorite songs is, Jesus On The Mainline, where we get tight on our harmony!

The Waylighters #5

The pastor at Burning Bush Church made the group feel very welcome, as did the whole congregation. We enjoyed the day with them. One of the new songs that the group has introduced to the congregations is a song called, Goodbye, Egypt, sung by Sharon Emery. Everywhere they go, The Waylighters always enjoy themselves. Here they are getting ready to sing for the congregation of Burning Bush Baptist Church in Jemison, AL. Danny Littleton has filled the lead position for 14 years and he just keeps getting better as the years go on! Some more of the talent at Burning Bush Church. Churches are so blessed when they have folks that can sing and play for the Lord. Ann has gotten so much more comfortable with her position with The Waylighters. This is the official start of Anns second year with the group. Danny, Sharon and Ann singing, Mercy Walked In. The Waylighters Quartet were honored to be with the folks of Mulga Baptist Church on March 16, 2014. The congregation gave the group a warm welcome. And yet, more talent at Burning Bush Church in Jemison, AL. Isnt it funny how the song book becomes so interesting when someone starts to take your picture! The Waylighters in 2014

The choir of Fairview Baptist Church sings a couple of hymns before The Waylighters sing. Ann Littleton has became a vital part of The Waylighters Quartet and a big hit with the folks that we sing to. On May 3, 2014, The Waylighters Quartet traveled to Clanton, AL where they were joined by several other groups and individual singers to raise money for a five-year old young lady whose name is Alicia. Alicia will be having spinal surgery on July 31. Pl Part of the crowd that attended the fundraiser in Clanton, AL for Alicia. Alicia suffers from Cerebral Palsy and will be having spinal surgery in July. The pastor of the church where the singing was held brings a short message. I really enjoyed his message. This group was very talented and you could tell that they were doing it for the Lord. Gary McGee was just one of the featured singers in Clanton, AL on May 3, 2014 The youth group even got Danny (lead singer) involved in their program. I think Danny rather enjoyed himself. Steve Robertson was another of the featured singers at the benefit singing in Clanton, AL. But it was hard to get him to pose for a photograph! O.K., lets change parts! Danny, you sing lead on this one!
